Voyagers
3rd - 5th Grade Discipleship Groups
Program runs August through January:
Please contact Jennifer Reinecke for more information.
Voyagers is a discipleship group program for the children of Covenant Presbyterian Church that follows the T.E.A.M.S. model for discipleship. The T.E.A.M.S. acronym gives us an easy-to-remember key to our time in discipleship.
This discipleship program is geared to support parents as they take the primary responsibility of discipling their children. On Sunday evenings, children will receive an engaging introduction to what it means to be a disciple of Christ. Parents will take their kids to the next level by continuing the experience throughout the rest of the week. Voyagers will provide parents with take-home supplements which equip them with everything they need to have a devotional time with their children that is tied to the Bible lesson.
The children will receive a basic understanding of a Bible lesson (Truth) and discuss how it applies to their lives (Equipping). They will have the support of an adult leader, the other group members and their parents as they attempt to live it out in their daily lives (Accountability). The children will learn to talk about their faith and to serve others in the church and community (Mission). The groups will pray from lesson applications, missions, church-wide prayer concerns as well as requests from group members (Supplication). After all this there will be fun activities to finish off the evening.
The 2011 - 2012 curriculum will be To Be Like Jesus from John Piper’s Children Desiring God Series.
